Mouse Brain Frozen Sections
Zyagen offers frozen sections of many regions/areas of mouse brain in coronal, sagittal, and horizontal orientations. Brains
are snapped frozen or fixed frozen in OCT blocks, sectioned at a thickness of 7-10microns and mounted on positively
charged slides. Frozen sections of brains of mice perifused with cold 4% paraformaldehyde or buffered formalin are also
available upon request, contact technical service for availabilty.
Tissue sections are routinely made of CD1 and c57BL/6 mouse brains but we can also make tissue sections of other
mouse strains (inbred, outbred, mutant, hybrid, transgenic) upon request..
Frozen sections are shipped in tightly closed slide boxes or slide mailers on dry ice and are good for one year if properly

12-well culture plates.
Applications :
Frozen tissue sections are prepared in RNase-, protease-free environment and are ideal for immunohistochemistry and in
situ hybridization.

Zyagen offer frozen coronal sections of 14 regions/areas of mouse brain (as illustrated below). Brains are
snapped frozen in OCT, sectioned coronal in orientation at a thickness of 7-10 microns, and sections mounted on
positively charged slides. Each slide contains 2 sections. Frozen sections are shipped in tightly closed slide boxes
or slide mailers on dry ice. Brain frozen coronal sections of mice perifused with 10% neutral buffered formalin or
4% paraformeldehyde are also available upon request.
