Mouse Whole Embryo Frozen Sections
Zyagen offers high quality mouse whole embryo frozen sections at different stages of pregnancy from E10 to E18 in sagittal orientation. Pregnancy is precisely determined by observation of vaginal plug. Plug date is considered day one of gestation. Sagittal sections are made close to the midline of each embryo so most major embryonic tissues/organs are shown in each section. Embryos are fixed in 4%paraformeldehyde or 10% neutral buffered formalin, frozen in OCT blocks, sectioned at a thickness of 7-10 microns and mounted on positively charged slides (2 sections per slide). Fresh snapped frozen embryo sections are also available upon request.
Tissue sections are routinely made of CD1 mouse embryos but we also can also make tissue sections of other mouse strains (inbred, outbred, mutant, hybrid, transgenic) upon request.
Frozen sections are shipped in tightly closed slide boxes or slide mailers on dry ice and are good for one year if properly stored.
Applications: Frozen tissue sections are prepared in RNase-, protease-free environment and are ideal for immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization.
